I like this guide. Especially asking questions and making sure you have the full picture of requirements and limits before jumping into solutions.

A great overview of design interviews. A very important part is my opinion is to make clear during the interview which problems you DON’T solve with your solution, and not assume you chose the top priority ones.

It’ll give the interviewers a chance to nudge you in another direction before you dig a deep hole

That's very true. When people say "design YouTube" they are testing your ability to break it down into features and design one of them.

I think there are a lot of behavioral signals in these interviews too. It's a collaboration between the candidate and the interviewer. Here you test first-hand what candidates tell in their stories of "tell me about a time you solved a complex problem"
